When the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) first organized in June of 2020, the bipartisan, bicameral membership kicked off the planning for the Inaugural with the goal of hosting ceremonies that were as safe, traditional, and inclusive as possible.

The JCCIC, in consultation with diversified public health and medical experts and the Presidential Inaugural Committee, has determined that the global pandemic and the rise in COVID-19 cases warranted a difficult decision to limit attendance at the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies. Therefore, my office will not have tickets to distribute to constituents. I know that many are disappointed by this. I certainly am as well. But public health and safety is paramount, and the committee is working on enhanced opportunities to watch the ceremonies online, in addition to the traditional televised national broadcast.

Have safe holiday season and happy New Year!
