Happy Thanksgiving! I wish you a restful, relaxing, and pleasant holiday surrounded by your loved ones. I am happy to be in our community this week, spending time with my family, friends, and neighbors. After working vigorously in Washington to ensure the interests of all Floridians are heard, it is always a joy to reconnect with all of you. This week and always, I am thankful for my family and friends and for the opportunity to represent you in Congress.

This holiday week I always join those who help donate and sort food and supplies to give back to families in our community. Everyone deserves food on their plates, especially on Thanksgiving.

In Washington these past few weeks, I have been working for you:

• I co-founded the Venezuela Democracy Caucus to continue fighting for freedom and democracy for all Venezuelans who have suffered under an authoritarian regime for far too long.

• Democrats in the House passed the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act, which will provide health and social service workers the workplace violence protections they deserve, and penalize employers who retaliate against employees for reporting violent incidents.

• I announced my campaign for Chairwoman of the Appropriations Committee so that I can more effectively fight for Floridians and ensure tangible benefits are brought back to our community and to Americans across the country.

• ACA marketplace enrollment for 2020 is now open with lower premiums and more insurer options. Make sure to sign up before the Affordable Care Act Marketplace closes on December 15th.
