How Best to Find Available Grants
1. Find out Who is Eligible for a Grant? Other government websites may be more suitable for personal needs, student loans, small business assistance, or other business opportunities such as government contracting.
2. You can find up-to-date information on open federal grants here. Please bookmark this link for future reference! This spreadsheet will be frequently updated. The grants can be easily sorted by category.
3. If eligible, search for program information at SAM.gov Assistance Listings. This includes grants, loans, business and nonfinancial help.

Fedral Grants in South Florida
I’m proud to utilize my position as a senior Member on the House Committee on Appropriations to bring federal resources back home to Florida and ensure that our needs are being addressed. Here are some recent awards that I helped secure:
$19.5 million for the South Florida ClimateReady Tech Hub
The South Florida ClimateReady Tech Hub, authorized by President Biden’s CHIPS Act, is a consortium led by Miami-Dade County Innovation and Economic Development Office. Building off South Florida’s unique combination of resources, such as its coastal and marine infrastructure, cluster of clean cement and energy efficiency building industries, and academic and research institutions, this Tech Hub will jumpstart innovation by developing, commercializing, and scaling technologies focused on climate adaptation and mitigation. This initiative will create 23,000 new green-union jobs (15,000 of which will go towards traditionally underserved communities) with an average base salary of $86,000 over the next five years. Over the next decade, the Tech Hub is projected to generate $41 billion in new revenue over the next decade, putting South Florida on the map for global climate tech.
$1.1 million for the United Way of Broward County for Veterans Housing
I helped secure funding for the purchase of two apartment buildings as well as household furnishings for Veterans to ensure that the Veteran does not have just an apartment, but a “home”. Included in the project model will be in-kind case management services provided by United Way of Broward County’s Mission United program with the goal of assisting Veterans in accessing needed community resources and benefits, supportive services, employment opportunities, and education supports to ensure a viable path to self-sufficiency.
$1.5 million to the Broward Sheriff’s Office
My office helped secure funding that is being used to expand the Broward Sheriff Office’s Real Time Crime Center and Digital Forensics Unit to help with investigations of human trafficking. The Crime Center was created after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018, and the funding for the Digital Forensics Unit will go to help with investigations of human trafficking.
$1.6 million for Brightline to Improve Train Safety
I helped Brightline secure $1.6 million in federal funding for investments that will go towards innovative technologies providing new data to address railroad trespassing activities and reduce collisions with passenger traffic along the Florida East Coast Railway corridor. This funding comes on top of the $25 million awarded to Brightline in 2022 to construct 33 miles of pedestrian protection features and supplemental safety measures at 328 grade crossings.
$50 million for Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) was awarded $50 million in funding under the FY 2024 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which I voted for and vocally supported. This multimillion-dollar grant will fund a portion of FLL's Terminal Connectors project, which consists of the construction of enclosed post-security walkways between Terminals 1 and 2 and Terminals 2 and 3. The project also includes modifications to existing terminals, such as enhanced security checkpoints, an upgraded bag hall, an expanded passenger gate-area hold room, and more retail concessions.
