610 WIOD (MIAMI) Wasserman Schultz To Chair South Florida Zika Meeting Florida Leads the nation in confirmed Zika virus cases, with more than 160, and South Florida Congressional Leaders are trying to do something about it. Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Ted Deutch will lead a meeting at Nova Southeastern University this morning with local and national leaders, to discuss the virus. Wasserman Schultz says some common ground can be found on this issue on both sides of the aisle. "I wholeheartedly agree with Senator [Marco] Rubio, a mosquito does not know if they are biting a republican or a democrat," Wasserman Schultz said. Senator Rubio making those remarks last week as he urged congress to pass $1.9 billion in federal money to fight the spread of Zika. This morning's meeting Starts at 9:30am.
