Wasserman Schultz Statement on Meeting with Lilian Tintori and Patricia de Ceballos

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) released the following statement after meeting with Lilian Tintori and Patricia de Ceballos, whose husbands are unjustly imprisoned in Venezuela:

“Yesterday I was honored and humbled to meet with Lilian Tintori and Patricia de Ceballos, whose husbands Leopoldo Lopez and Daniel Ceballos are sitting in prison on trumped up political charges by the repressive Maduro regime.

“Their advocacy for human rights and a free and fair democratic system, in the face of direct threats from the Maduro regime against them and their children, is an inspiration to their countrymen and all those who value freedom. As a mother and a lawmaker who supports justice, due process, and human rights, I proudly stand with them.”
